why we built this

Airbnb has hosts. VRBO has hosts. Kindred has hosts. But somewhere in there, ‘host’ came to mean a lockbox and a welcome cookie. A good host cooks for you, shows you around, and somewhere along the way becomes your friend. There wasn’t a word for that anymore, so we picked one. Here, you don’t get hosted. You get adopted.
